I'm sorry but seriously, Eames DOESNT TRUST Cobb. none of my eames' do. he's too much like her but in a way that he justifies so concisely. its like he has no idea that what they do is essentially wrong. Because he's an academic and you can get away with murder when its in the name of science or learning or whatever nice little heading you want to label it with, Eames thinks that Cobb believes its his right to do whatever he pleases.
PERSONALLY, I don't think Cobb feels remorse for what he did. I think Mal is nothing more than his manifestation of his own guilt- NOT that he killed his wife and honestly devastated by what he did, but that he wasn't able to manipulate her properly. That she was smarter than him (declared sane by three different doctors? that elaborate set up? not tipping him off before she killed herself? that's fucking smart) and could think one step ahead of him, even when he'd fucked her reality six ways to sunday. I think Cobb truly does want to get back to his kids but for entirely selfish reasons. He sees them as his kids, and he wants to have them as reminders of what he had with Mal, not to be a proper father to them. I don't think he's capable of that because he INTENTIONALLY MESSED WITH HIS WIFE'S REALITY. JUST TO DO IT. Thats- that's just not something you do with a woman like Mal. She trusted him and he took that trust and made her question her reality with it. UGH. COBB. I COULD WRITE ESSAYS ON WHY I DONT LIKE YOU.
